The Black Dog Ball is an annual event held in Rockhampton that raises funds towards initiatives that help young people in regional and rural areas of Central Queensland.

In 2015, the Black Dog Ball donated $25,000 to MATES in Construction Queensland.  This donation has meant MATES in Construction has been able to provide our program to parts of Central Queensland that we otherwise may not have accessed.

On April Fools’ Day, the women behind the Black Dog Ball along with MM Electrical organised a free event for construction workers to attend, where they could hear and learn of the MATES in Construction program.

John Brady, Operations Manager for MATES in Construction Qld delivered the presentation to about 30 construction workers in the morning.

“Thanks to the hard work of seven dedicated women, we are able to introduce construction workers to the MATES in Construction program,” John Brady said.

“We look forward to working further with the people involved with the Black Dog Ball and also the great people that work in the construction industry in Central Queensland,” he said.
