Join us for The MATES Lunch 2017, our annual WA charity event.

This event aims to raise funds to support MATES in Construction WA. Your contribution to our charity lunch means we can continue working to save lives in the WA building and construction industry.

The charity lunch focuses on actively talking about mental health in a positive and supportive environment.  It’s also about getting our industry mates together and celebrating; celebrating achievements the industry has already made towards reducing the rate of suicide of WA building and construction workers as well as working together with MIC WA, to improve the mental health of our workers and their families.

This year’s VIP guests include Greg Hire, Vice-Captain of the Perth Wildcats, speaking about his interest in youth mental health and the community.  Broadcaster Karen Tighe will take to the stage to interview a Perth couple who understand first-hand the importance of having quality mental health support.  We will also hear from recognised champions of the building and construction industry talking about the impact of mental health challenges in the workplace, and how businesses can be proactive in the prevention of suicide.

As with all charity events, there will be a door prize, a raffle, silent auctions, and a live auction being conducted by Tim Gossage, our MC.  Bring your cash and a sense of humour – Tim is well known for separating guests from their dollars.  Up for auction will be sporting collectables, a landscaping package, household products and you can bid on four Uptown Grandstand Tickets (General Admission) to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York in November.
