When the doors open on the New Royal Adelaide hospital many people may be unaware that this landmark building may have already saved lives.

On December 17 2015 MIC (SA) was proud to accredit HYLCJV on the New Royal Adelaide Hospital site. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of all involved MATES in Construction SA was able to take up the opportunity to train a large section of the South Australia construction workforce.

Since starting in April 2013, MATES in Construction SA has trained a total of 3,611 workers, 95 Connectors and 6 ASIST workers.

A big thank you to the site champions who worked with the MATES Field Officers along this two year journey including David Johns (Industrial Relations Manager), Sian Dodd (National Communications Manager) and Glenn Carson (HSE Administrator).

“Our workers are our biggest asset so we felt it was important to provide the awareness and support that they need to help manage their health and wellbeing both professionally and personally.”

“We are extremely proud to have become South Australia’s largest accredited site,”

“Suicide is everyone’s responsibility and it is through working together that we can make a difference and save lives,” said Sian Dodd.
