Introducing Matt Hull – the first MATES Field Officer in the Northern Territory
MATES in Construction is pleased to announce the appointment of former South Australian premier Dean Brown AO to the role of Honorary Patron in SA.
First off, it is an honour to be apart of your community and to be able to work towards a suicide-safer community through the MATES program.
My central role for MATES is to represent the whole of the northern Territory for MATES and facilitate a program that is proven to change the culture of suicide in the Construction Industry.
I, along with my colleagues, work hard to deliver training and awareness around suicide to reduce stigmatisation but also to begin a conversation within the construction community. I am a local lad who has worked in the construction, mining and Energy sectors and prior to this, a First Aid Trainer. In addition to this, I am also Ex-Military, having served one deployment to Afghanistan in 2012.
My passion is ensuring the safety of the community and bridging a gap in communication about a topic that has impacted the territory for too long. I look forward to meeting new people and working with everyone who I have already met and who wants to serve this community with as much passion as I have.
Cheers and stay safe.
